Discount Calculator for WooCommerce (Sale Price & Coupons)
How to Use This Discount Calculator
- Choose your currency. Prices are formatted for that currency, including currencies without decimals such as IDR and JPY.
- Enter the regular price of one item.
- Pick a discount type: a percentage, a fixed amount, or a stacked discount (two percentages applied one after the other).
- Optionally add a quantity, tax rate and shipping cost, then press Calculate discount.
- Copy the regular and sale price straight into your WooCommerce product, or use the matching coupon settings shown in the result.
How to Set a Sale Price in WooCommerce
- In your WordPress dashboard, open Products and edit the product.
- In the Product data box, stay on the General tab.
- Enter the Regular price and the Sale price from the calculator above.
- Optionally click Schedule to set start and end dates, so the sale turns on and off automatically.
- Update the product. WooCommerce shows the old price struck through next to the sale price, plus a "Sale!" badge on most themes.
Sale Price or Coupon: Which One Should You Use?
A sale price is visible to every visitor and works best for store-wide promotions, flash sales and clearance items. A coupon only applies when the customer enters a code, which makes it better for email subscribers, first-order offers, influencer codes and abandoned-cart recovery.
WooCommerce has three coupon discount types, all under Marketing → Coupons:
- Percentage discount: a percentage off the products in the cart.
- Fixed cart discount: one fixed amount off the whole cart total.
- Fixed product discount: a fixed amount off each eligible item, multiplied by quantity.
How Stacked Discounts Work in WooCommerce
Stacked percentages are not added together. A 50% sale followed by a 20% coupon takes 20% off the already-reduced price, so the customer pays 40% of the original price, a total of 60% off. This calculator uses the same math.
Tip: To combine a sale price with a coupon, leave Exclude sale items unchecked in the coupon's usage restrictions. If customers can use several coupons at once, Calculate coupon discounts sequentially (WooCommerce → Settings → General) applies each coupon to the price left after the previous one. Tick Individual use only on a coupon if it should never be combined with others.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate a discount?
Multiply the price by the discount percentage and divide by 100 to get the amount saved, then subtract it from the price. For example, 20% off 80 is 80 × 20 / 100 = 16, so the sale price is 64.
Does WooCommerce charge tax before or after a discount?
After. Tax is calculated on the discounted price, which is how this calculator handles it too.
Why is my WooCommerce sale price slightly different?
WooCommerce rounds prices to the number of decimals set in WooCommerce → Settings → General. Enter the rounded sale price shown above and the numbers will match.
